Even with the drawback of having to carry around another device, the portable battery pack is almost worth its weight in gold, and for those of you who do a lot of work on a smartphone, it is a necessary device to have around at all times. Pulling a Qiku (or cheeky) one? Before we get into the review, we would like to clear our stance on the rumors that the Dual 5 is actually a rebranded Qiku device. This has been neither officially confirmed nor denied but there is no getting away from the fact that the Dual 5 bears a striking semblance to the Qiku 360 Q5 in terms of hardware, design and even software....

Initial sales in the US seem to have borne out our initial impressions of the iPhone 12 mini. It might have made reviewers go “awww sooo chweet and cuuuuttte” but early indications are that the iPhone 12 mini has not got off to the kind of sales start in the US (the iPhone’s largest market) that its reviews had indicated. PCMag’s mobile analyst, Sascha Segan, has written that as per analysts Wave7 Research, the iPhone 12 mini has been the least in demand of the new iPhones....

Looks and design – slim olde guard versus new aspect ratio This is going to be a clash of tastes, more than anything else. Both the devices are very eye-catching in their own ways – the OnePlus 5T with its tall 18:9 aspect ratio display and curved metal back, and the Moto Z2 Force with its slightly more old fashion 16:9 front but a super sleek brushed aluminium finish on the back with a very distinct spherical camera unit....

Motorola One Hyper: Display The Motorola One Hyper features a 6.5-inch full HD+ display with a 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, a 90% screen-to-body ratio, and no notch. Yes, the phone does not have a notch to house the front camera. Instead, it relies on a pop-up mechanism that brings up the front-facing camera every time you want to click a selfie. Motorola One Hyper: Performance At its core, the One Hyper is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage (expandable using microSD card)....

In terms of design, the Nokia 4.2 features a compact design with glass on both, the front and the back and a polycarbonate frame around. On the front, it has a 5.71-inch HD+ edge-to-edge notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 1520 x 720 pixels (295ppi) screen resolution. Talking about performance, the Nokia 4.2 is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable with microSD card support up to 400GB)....

The body of the Nokia 9 PureView is constructed out of metal with Gorilla Glass 5 on either side. There’s a 5.99-inch display on the front without any of the 2019 bells and whistles of a tear-drop notch or a punch-hole camera. There’s a sizeable forehead and chin which makes the viewing experience unhindered, something that is considered as a visual treat by many. The panel itself is an OLED one with a 2K+ resolution....

Carl Pei’s new enterprise, Nothing, added some transparency literally to the design of TWS with the Nothing Ear (1) in 2021, which came with semi-transparent buds and a case. So let’s take a look at the few things which differentiates the OnePlus 3T from OnePlus 3. Those megapixels seem similar In terms of sheer megapixel numbers, the camera on the OnePlus 6 has not seen a real bump up as compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 5T. The smartphone comes with a dual camera combination of a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor, with both having f/1.7 apertures. The selfie camera also remains the same in terms of numbers with a 16-megapixel front-facing sensor....

Well, the OnePlus 7 Pro changes that. For, with the addition of the Pro moniker comes not just a significant increase in price but also aspiration. Previous editions of the OnePlus (special editions aside) had been content to be well (rather than exceptionally) designed, excellently specced devices which might not have been able to totally match their premium counterparts in all departments – most notably design, display, sound and cameras – but ran them close enough in a few and never made you feel too bad about what they missed out on because hey, they came at much lesser price tags....

And it has done the same with its watch. The OnePlus Watch released earlier this year got most things right, and the ones it did not like an always-on display were fixed (in best OnePlus tradition) through updates. Now it has got a special edition that is, well, magical. Literally. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G features the 5th-generation Qualcomm AI Engine that claims to offer intuitive interactions with better voice translation, AI-based imaging, and AI-enhanced gaming experience. It incorporates the Kryo 570 architecture that promises up to 20% improvement in performance than its predecessor, along with better efficiency. The chipset comes with up to 2.2GHz of clock speed. In terms of graphics processing, it has the Adreno 619 GPU, which is said to enable up to 10% better graphics rendering as compares to the Snapdragon 730G processor....

Connecting the Razer Phone to the dock powers the laptop, which apart from a battery and a few extra GBs of storage, entirely relies on the phone including the speakers. Doing so extends the phone’s interface on to the bigger screen which you can control with a full-sized keyboard and the Razer Phone itself as the trackpad. In a nutshell, you’re basically using a big Android tablet with a keyboard and mouse....

As the name suggests, the RedmiBook 14 has a 14-inch display on the front with thin bezels and weighs in at just 1.5Kg making it extremely compact and portable. Growth in Q1 Like its counterparts, IDC has also reported that the Indian smartphone market recorded a very healthy 18 percent growth in the first quarter of the year, with shipments of 38 million units. Interestingly, however, the report also highlighted that this figure represented a 14 percent decline from Q4 2020. Tough Q2 coming up, but not as bad as last year Just as Counterpoint and Canalys, IDC too has pointed to a much tougher second quarter in the year, because of the onset of the second wave of COVID-19....

Oh yeah, it’s a Samsung all right! The moment you clap eyes on the phone, you can see it is taller than the “normal” ones. And you can also spot that typical, iconic Samsung design – the logo at the top, the home button doubling as a fingerprint scanner at the base with a 5.7-inch display in between. Flip the phone to its back, and you would see some subtle new touches in the design....

Samsung was expected to unveil the Mini version of the Galaxy S4 on June 20th, at a special event in London, but they went ahead and announced the device on their corporate blog. The Samsung Galaxy S3 was launched in London last year and the S4 in New York this year, but Samsung has returned back to the old continent with the Galaxy S4 Mini. Thus, Samsung has put an end to all the rumors and confirmed the Galaxy S4 Mini....
