Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 Features

1.5G

The Snapdragon 765 mobile platform includes the X52 Modem-RF System that leaps towards commercializing 5G globally and aims to deliver fast multi-gigabit download speeds of up to 3.7Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1.6Gbps, with improved coverage and better battery life. It brings the 5G multimode connectivity to expand the connectivity further and also supports frequency bands such as the mmWave, sub-6GHz, SA (Stand Alone) and NSA (Non-Stand Alone) mode, TDD (Time Division Duplex) and FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) with DSS (Dynamic Spectrum Sharing). Similar to the Snapdragon 865, the 765 also utilizes Qualcomm technologies such as PowerSave, Smart Transmit, Signal Boost, etc to offer better 5G experience.

2. AI

On the AI front, the 765 SoC includes the new 5th-gen Qualcomm AI Engine, which, paired with the 5G Modem0RF System elevates the performance in the camera, audio/video, and gaming department. Further, the AI Engine also features a new Qualcomm Hexagon Tensor accelerator that is 2x faster than its predecessors and promises to offer better low-power performance in tandem with the Qualcomm Sensing Hub, which further aids with voice recognition without consuming excessive battery juice.

3. Performance

In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 765 features the new Qualcomm Kyro 475 — that promises to deliver speeds of up to 2.3GHz and the Adreno 620 GPU — that claims to deliver up to 20% performance improvements with gaming, video rendering, and more. Qualcomm suggests that the SOC provides better battery life, and the on-device AI helps it to monitor battery health and ensure that things run smoothly. Furthermore, the Qualcomm Quick Charge AI extends the battery life cycle by up to 200 days and helps it achieve peak charging speeds.

4. Camera

The Snapdragon 765 comes with support for multi-camera capture, which, just like it sounds, allows users to choose from any of the sensors on their phone (telephoto, wide, ultra-wide) to create better-looking shots. Further, it also allows for capturing 4K HDR videos with a wide color spectrum.

5. Entertainment

Besides offering better photo and video shooting capabilities, the SoC also allows for better content consumption. Users can binge-watch media on their device with support for 5G, which allows for faster downloads and seamless 4K HDR streaming. In addition to online content, the platform also aids with better visuals and entertainment experience with offline content. And the inclusion of Qualcomm aptX Adaptive audio helps to improve the audio experience by auto-adjusting between high-definition and low-latency mode to keep the audio in sync with the video and address the audio-synchronization issues.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G Features

As the ‘G’ in the Snapdragon 765G suggests, the mobile platform is specifically designed to offer better gaming performance than its counterparts. The SoC comes with 5G and AI, along with a bunch of select Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming features to deliver unparalleled gaming experience on a mobile device. It is built upon the Snapdragon 765 and offers up to 5.5 TOPS (not TFLOPS) of AI performance with up to 15% faster graphics rendering. The Elite gaming features aid in gaming by offering special game extensions and customizations, smoother gameplay, and more with 10-bit HDR quality.

Availability

The latest Snapdragon 730 and 730G mobile platforms are set to power the upcoming mid-range devices, starting as soon as next week with Xiaomi announcing that the upcoming Redmi K30 will be powered by one of these chips. Others like Oppo and Realme have also announced that they are working on phones with these chipsets. Disclosure: The Editor of this blog is in Maui, Hawaii, on Qualcomm’s invitation.
