From the looks of it, Google will not let Android face iOS this year, with only the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it’s looking to introduce its own flagship, just in time for the holiday season. As you’d probably know, the LG Nexus 4 will introduce a brand new OS, Android 4.2 and will pack some impressive gear under the hood.
LG Nexus 4 Specifications and Features
In the hardware section, the Nexus 4 will come with the traditional large screen, a quad-core processor clocked at an unknown frequency that may pose threats to Apple’s A6 chip and a huge amount of RAM, at least for the current Android line-up. The design will be pretty smooth but LG’s creation will have some downsides, right from the start. LG has been quite the underdog in the Android market space and they have probably seen this partnership with Google as the light at the end of a very long tunnel. Unfortunately, it’s just a light bulb, as many would feel LG has lost its credibility as a smartphone manufacturer and if the Nexus 4 will not be quite exquisite, I don’t see how they will come out on black. Moreover, it seems that Google has developed a habit with limiting the storage amount to drastically low numbers, with both the Nexus 7 tablet and the LG Nexus 4 coming with just 8GB of storage and no expansion capabilities. As we’ve suggested in our Nexus 7 issues piece, that’s not enough.
The upcoming Nexus phone will introduce a new Android 4.2 version, which is still called Jelly Bean. This brand new build will include access to Google’s Play portal of applications, a large collection of eBooks, magazines, movies and TV shows in 1080p quality. A brand new feature of the OS may be “Gesture Typing“, Google’s own implementation of the Swype keyboard, which lets you spell words by dragging fingers across the screen.
