The game, however, still seems to be in its testing phase as it has only been released to the audience of certain South East Asian countries, but fret not, we have got a way out by installing the app manually with its data files and by using a VPN after which you will be able to play the game seamlessly.
Download and Install Asphalt 9 APK
Disclaimer: The following steps involve downloading an APK from a third-party site. Please tread with caution and proceed only if you understand the risks involved. The first step would be to head over to this link and download the patched APK along with its data file. You can follow the steps in the screenshots for easier navigation.
Next, you will need to install the downloaded APK and move the data files to the desired location. For this, you will first have to unzip the data file and copy the contents within the unzipped folder to the “Android/obb” folder on your phone. The folder to be copied should be titled “com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA9HM”. This is how your Android/obb folder will look like once the data file is copied.
Once you are done installing and copying the necessary files, head over to the Play Store and install a free vpn app like “Express VPN” without which the game will not run. Gameloft is geo-restricting the Asphalt 9 to a few countries and not many VPN services have Philippines server. Once you install the application, register for the free trial using your email id and then set the location to “Philippines (via Singapore)” under the “ALL” tab and by choosing “Asia Pacific” in the dropdown menu. Once this is done, you can turn on the VPN.
Now head over and launch the installed game and enter a few basic details and it should run smooth without any issues. Here are a couple of screenshots of the gameplay –
These were the steps to follow if you’re rocking an Android device. However, if you’re on team iOS, the process is much simpler. All you have to do is head over to settings of the App Store and change your country/region to Philippines and then head back to the App Store and search for “Asphalt 9” and download it. Once this is done, download an app which will allow you to connect to a Philippines VPN, preferably “CAT VPN” and you’re good to go. Gameloft seems to be testing the game out before its official release and hence, it’s made available only to a certain demographic. The game should be released to the Public in a couple of weeks’ time, but if you’re impatient and want to try out the all-new racing mayhem with improved graphics and gameplay, you can use this workaround until the official release.
