Back in April, we had broken the news of iPhone 4 launch in India through the press releases of Airtel & Aircel, two of the major mobile service providers in India. Though it is more than obvious that iPhone 5 launch is near, the less fortunate Apple fans in India are left to celebrate the launch of iPhone 4, after almost a year since it was released globally. Airtel had already started taking pre-orders for iPhone 4, but it looks like Aircel will be the first one to launch the device in India.
iPhone 4 Price in India
Aircel has just sent a press release announcing that they will be launching the iPhone 4 this Friday for both prepaid and postpaid customers. It will start retailing at
Rs 34,500 ($763) for the 16GB model & Rs 40,900 ($905) for the 32GB model.
Unlike iPhone 3GS in India or iPhone 4 elsewhere, the phone will follow a reverse-subsidized model, i.e you will have to pay the iPhone price upfront, but you have the opportunity to recover its full cost in terms of monthly credits over the next 2 years. Not so attractive, isn’t it? We do have the breakdown of tariff plans below. Check it out.
