In terms of design, both the Tone Free FN6 and the Tone Free FN7 feature a puck-style design, with the earbuds themselves sitting inside a hollow encasing. The earphones come in two colorways: Modern White and Stylish Black. As already mentioned, LG has equipped these earphones with a UVnano charging cradle that emits ultraviolet light to sanitize the earbuds while they charge. As per LG, this process manages to eliminate 99% of bacteria from the earphones. On the inside, both Tone Free models feature Meridian Audio-tweaked audio. For those unaware, Meridian Audio is a renowned British audio company and LG’s partner with sound engineering for a long time. As a result, the earphones offer a bunch of different features, accessible through the LG ToneFree companion app on both Android and iOS.
Some of the features of the Tone Free FN6 and FN7 include an IPX4 rating, support for SBC and AAC codec, fast charging and wireless charging support, customizable EQ, and Google fast pairing support, among others. Both models use Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. When it comes to battery, the two include the same 390mAh battery in the case and a 55mAh battery inside each earbud. However, the FN7 offers up to 21 hours of battery life, while the FN6 manages to only deliver up to 14 hours.
