With the current work-from-home situation across the globe due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there is a sudden rise in the use of video-conferencing services to catch up with the employees and colleagues and collaborate, if required. During this time, one of the video-conferencing tools, which has seen a sharp rise in adoption, and since then, has been growing at a steady pace, is Zoom — despite the presence of other popular video conferencing solutions. The latest entrant in this competition is JioMeet, which brings along a bunch of features to compete with the likes of Zoom and the likes. To give you a run-down of the features, here’s what JioMeet brings to the table. For starters, the maximum participant limit is 100, and the video resolution for calling tops at HD. All meetings are password protected and encrypted to ensure user privacy. There is support for WebRTC, which allows you to click on a JioMeet invite link and directly join the meeting over a web browser — without requiring the need to download the app. Similar to some of the other video-conferencing services, JioMeet also provides the ability to schedule meetings in advance and share the link with potential participants. To ensure no-one enters the meeting abruptly without permission, there is a waiting room feature, to prevent just that. Furthermore, JioMeet also offers the ability to create groups and also share screens and collaborate with other team members, which can come in handy, especially with the current scenario.
