As for the roaming plans themselves, OnePlus says most of the regions are supported, and you can buy anything from daily top-ups to weekly packages. In addition, trans-regional bundles can be bought too if your trip isn’t limited to just a single city. OnePlus Roaming can be accessed by heading into WiFi & Internet settings. It may sound like it, but OnePlus Roaming isn’t quite exactly like e-SIM since here, you will at least need your home SIM card up and running. It only eliminates the hassle of setting up a local card. While OnePlus has only seeded the update to the OnePlus 6 yet, we expect it to arrive soon for the latest OnePlus 6T as well. Apart from that, the beta update comes with something called a Video Enhancer, which, jargon aside, means colors will be artificially boosted for a better video playback experience and improvements for the emergency response interface. You can now also configure a preferred SIM card for a specific contact and enable vibration for when you hang up calls. OnePlus Roaming is certainly the highlight here and it could end up being a signature feature OnePlus users would get accustomed to, like the Dash Charge. Of course, it comes down to how reliable the service is. We also don’t know yet which phones will eventually gain the OnePlus Roaming option. OnePlus 6 users who are already enrolled in the beta channel should now be receiving the update. If you’d like to try it out, though, you can find the flashing instructions and the ROM file here.
