Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2: Design and Display
As stated at the beginning, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a similar design approach as the original Fold, except that it is claimed to have a better hinge mechanism, and that the display no longer has a notch, and instead takes a hole-punch approach for the front-facing camera. Talking of which, the device features a 6.23-inch S-AMOLED display on the exterior with a 2260 x 816 pixels screen resolution and a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED (2,208 x 1,768 pixels) foldable display on the inside that folds along the center. The interior display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, while the one on the outside has a 60Hz refresh rate. Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes in two colorways: Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black.

Talking about the performance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset — an octa-core processor based on the 7nm process, with Adreno 650 GPU for graphics. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device includes a 4500mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging, 11W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging support. It runs on OneUI based on Android 10 and features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication.

In the camera department, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 sports a triple-camera setup on the rear. The setup includes a 12MP primary sensor accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide and a 12MP telephoto lens. On the front, the device has a 10MP camera.

As of today, Samsung has not announced any details on the pricing and availability of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. However, it is expected to shed light on the same in the coming months — sometime around September. UPDATE: As of September 1, Samsung has officially announced the pricing and availability for its next-gen foldable. The all-new Galaxy Z Fold 2 is priced at $1,999.99 in the US and will be available starting September 18. Those interested can pre-book the device starting today.
