There are countless solutions that the modern world puts at your disposal for taking notes, and today we want to talk about one that’s very ingenious – Speechnotes. If you have already opened the website, then you will soon understand how to use it. It works right inside your browser and, well, just as the name suggests it, lets you take voice notes by speaking directly into the microphone. I’ve been playing around with it for the past half hour and I can say that I quite enjoy its functionality. I was lucky enough to have found my native language in the supported list, as well, besides English, so that was pretty fun. However, I discovered that it was easier for the web app to understand what I was saying in English than in my own Romanian language.  As you can see, it works pretty straightforward – you open the website and start talking. While you can use Speechnotes in any browsers, it also comes with an extension that’s currently available for Chrome users only. This speech recognizing text editor is free and unlimited to use, so it might prove to be a great web app for dictation and typing. I’m seriously thinking of using it for the next article that I’m going to write. Let’s see if I manage to lie down on the sofa and just dictate what comes to my mind, now that would be even entertaining. According to the guys who developed it, Speechnotes is ‘especially designed to provide you a distraction-free environment, so you can concentrate on the most important part – your own creativity.‘ Speechnotes lets you type at the speed of speech, which means you have to speak slow and clear for it to understand what you’re saying. And I do recommend that you check out what it Speechnote is writing down, because sometimes it might not get all the words right. Whenever you feel like you want to start typing again, you can easily resume your traditional way of putting words down. And yes, it does come with voice commands and shortcuts, so you can easily insert punctuation marks by speech. It also comes with auto save, the option to export to Google Drive or download as a document to your computer. You can also easily send it to your email, or print your note. Speechnotes comes with automatic smart capitalization of letters at the beginning of sentences. An accuracy of above 90% is promised, as the technology is based on Google’s high-end speech-recognition engines. The great thing about this tiny tool is that there is no login, registration, installation, or download needed and it comes with unlimited usage for free. Go ahead and give it a try if you have to deal with words on a daily basis, like I do, and let us know what you think of it.
