The Mi 9 SE is considered to be a successor of the Mi 8 SE, launched last year. In terms of design, the Mi 9 has a 5.97-inch Full HD+ Samsung AMOLED display with 90.4% screen-to-body ratio and a notch at the top. The device comes with a gradient-finished holographic rainbow spectrum on the back that reflects colors of a rainbow depending upon the angle of the light striking it. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC, which Xiaomi claims to be the first smartphone to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 712 SoC. For authentication, the device has an in-display fingerprint sensor that can be used to lock/unlock the device to increase its security. Unlike the Mi 9, which sports a bigger battery and supports wireless charging, the Mi 9 SE only comes with a 3070mAh battery and does not come with support for wireless charging. Instead, it comes with support for an 18W fast charging option that promises to charge the device faster, in comparatively less time. In terms of optics, the Mi 9 SE sports a triple camera setup on the rear, with a primary 48MP sensor from Sony, coupled with a 13MP ultra wide-angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. For selfies, the features a 20MP sensor on the front.
